You keep asking for turnaround moments and Film responds quickly to your requests. As a Whole, Badla is one of the Finest Thriller made in Bollywood with Magic of Illusional Truth. The screenplay in the First half is Ordinary and it could have been much better compared to overall impact of the Film therefore this remains the only let down here. Sujoy Ghosh as Director does an Excellent Job, he manages to keep you hooked till the End and forces you to Clap on the Very Last scene. Writing is Perfect, and it was Expected due to Remake thing. Background Music is Top Notch, it gives you that feel of Anger, Scare, Thrill etc. All of them Act with thier souls to make the Chatacters very much audience friendly. Amrita Singh is a Pleasant Surprise as she plays one of the Most Important Role in this Maze. Badla is a Revenge Drama where Characters aren't set till the end, you keep getting shocks on alternate occassions asking yourself that who is Protagonist and who is Antagonist? Taapsee Pannu is showcased as Protagonist but is she really that? Amitabh Bachchan plays a Neutral Lawyer throughout the film untill the Brilliant Climax blows you away. Sujoy Ghosh is Back with another Fine Thriller which should not be missed.
Now the Final Product is out and it is nothing less that whatever promised. Badla was looking like that Comeback Film from the Trailer, and the Cast made it look sure shot winner. He went quite low with other films but the Expectations of his Comeback were always carried. A decent watch!īADLA REVIEW :- Sujoy Ghosh was the name to look forward since he delivered Classic thriller Kahani. Just don't expect to be blown away when the final suspense reveals. On the whole, 'BADLA' will keep you guessing. In supporting roles, Manav Kaul is underused, while Tony Luke is fantastic and adds to the film's mystery, purely on the strength of his personality. It's been 50 years since this man started working in movies and even 5 decades later, there are a very few who can hold your attention like Bachchan does. And Amitabh, as always, commands the screen. Taapsee captures the flawed woman with a fierceness that comes across as natural rather than overdone. Performance-Wise: Taapsee and Amitabh challenge each other with arresting turns. Editing is razor-crisp, as the film wraps up under a neat 120-minutes. Avik Mukhopadhyay's Cinematography captures the grim beauty of Glasgow, brilliantly. Ghosh's Direction is skilled and well-done. A more cleverer end was the need here! The Dialogue are enjoyable. The main twist in the tale is rather implausible and will make you question it. And for any suspense murder-mystery, the finale is the most crucial. The only glitch in Ghosh's Writing lies in its culmination. Singh, superb in the role, proves how underrated the veteran has remained almost all through her career. A particular sub-plot involving a grieving mother (Amrita Singh) is well-done and gives the film a nice emotional spin. The mystery unfolds well, and its twisted-ness manages to hold your grip. And Ghosh, also Writer here, adapts the story well. Naina says she is innocent, but is she telling the truth? 'BADLA' is a cat and mouse film, where an accused and her lawyer discover each other, while taking us to the back story that involves the murder here in question. 'BADLA' Synopsis: When top businesswoman Naina (Taapsee) is accused of murdering her lover, she seeks help from a prolific lawyer Badal Gupta (Amitabh Bachchan) to defend her. While not entirely unpredictable neither perfect, this atmospheric film is a ride you wouldn't mind taking.
